Meet Your Counselor

Rozanne McCarty holds a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Grand Canyon University, along with a second master’s degree in organizational leadership from Columbia Southern University. My undergraduate degree is in management and communication from Corbin University.  I completed a psychiatric technician program from Santa Rosa Junior College in California and after passing the State Licensing exam, worked as a licensed psychiatric technician for 13 years. Over the past 5 years, I have dedicated myself to providing evidence-based counseling infused with empathy and commitment to my clients.

Philosophy

"Knowledge is the acquiring of facts,

understanding is the interpreting of facts,

wisdom is the application." – Edwin Louis Cole

This philosophy underpins my approach to counseling: integrating knowledge, understanding, and wisdom to foster an environment of restoration.

Professional Experience

With several years of experience in community mental health, I have the privilege of working with individuals facing a diverse range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, bipolar disorder, suicidal ideations, PTSD, and trauma. My approach emphasizes respect, active listening, and collaboration. I encourage successes while tailoring modalities to help clients achieve their desired goals.

Before embarking on my counseling career, I worked as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician, employing positive behavioral interventions and motivational strategies for adults, which informs much of my therapeutic style today.

Life can often overwhelm us, impacting our self-esteem and obscuring our strengths and worth. My focus is on using evidence-based modalities such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Informed Counseling, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and mindfulness techniques to equip and empower my clients to manage their mental health effectively.
